Welcome to the Engineering Council Web site at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign!
Engineering Council (EC) is the students' voice in the
College of Engineering and is designed to
serve the needs of the engineering community. EC consists of an executive board
that oversees 13 committees and over 50 professional and honorary societies.
Engineering Council holds events that allow students to develop leadership skills
(ESLC) and form productive relationships
with staff members in the College of Engineering (DSAC).
EC also encourages personal and societal achievement and builds a sense
of community among engineering students.
Engineering Council also sponsors a number of programs that show off the skills of
U of I engineering students to the campus, local community, and general public.
Examples of these events include: a major career fair (EXPO),
a large science fair (EOH), and a program
that gives high school students a glimpse of engineering at the University level
(SITE).
EC meetings are a great way to get information about EC events, societies, and general
happenings around the college. They are held every month throughout the fall and spring
semesters, and all engineering students are encouraged to attend. Please browse this Web
site for more information and feel free to contact any executive board members with questions.
 | E-Night 2008!After the
mass chaos
of
Quad Day, a lot of students (and especially freshmen) are still trying to figure out which
clubs they'd like to join. We host Engineers Night annually in the fall semester exclusively
for engineering societies—providing food, games, and prizes as students speak with
representatives offering the best of their organizations. E-Night is an excellent way to
recruit new members and get eager engineers involved. Member societies of Engineering
Council (in good standing) get a booth for free at E-Night. Other organizations may request
a table, as well.
For questions about registration or E-Night in
general, please
contact Rob Grzyb at rgrzyb2@uiuc.edu
Registration is now up! To
