The process to membership in Engineering Council begins with a meeting between the officers of the proposed society and the President and Vice President of Engineering Council. The main purpose of this meeting is to gain an understanding of what the proposed society does, why the society intends to join Engineering Council, and who the society’s target membership is.
The EC New Society Information Guide details all benefits and responsibilities for Engineering Council societies. The last page of this guide has a questionnaire that the prospective society should fill out and bring to the meeting with the Engineering Council President and Vice President.
After meeting with the President and Vice President, the next step to membership is to give a presentation about your society at an upcoming Engineering Council General Meeting. If 2/3 of the EC General Body vote to accept your society into Engineering Council, then you will be an official Engineering Council Member Society.
